Today saw the removal of the wall between the kitchen and dining room. Since this was a load bearing wall, two micro lam beams were installed to hold up the roof. The half wall that remains will be the back of the cabinets. There will be a 42" tall bar that will be on top of the half wall.
The door between Gabe's room and the kitchen was removed. This area will be framed in and closed up. The other door to Gabe's room opens to the hallway. This door is too narrow and will be eventually widened.
Tomorrow Sarah and I will visit a couple flooring shops to price out cork floors.
